Giving Back
At Accounting & Taxation Advantage we believe in Giving Back, both with our time and our money. We are also conscious of supporting both local and global communities.
At a local level we regularly contribute to Father Chris Riley's Youth off the Streets which is a Sydney based program to assist homeless and disadvantaged youth.
Melissa serves on the board of a not-for-profit organisation called Mustard Seed Global. They are currently working on some exciting projects which involve a Hospitality Jobs Network program through a cafe run at Cranebrook in Sydney's West as well as establishing a mobile HIV Aids Clinic in Papua New Guinea.
Each team member is encouraged to take two days 'giving back' leave per year to spend at the charity of their choice. We appreciate that often it is a time and skills shortage that charities face, not only monetary shortages
We also support Opportunity International which provides loans to their clients to help grow their own small business. It is about lending money and training women so that they can be empowered through business to make great changes in their communities. In 2007 Melissa established our first Trust Bank with Opportunity International in the Philipines and our eventual goal is to establish one every year.
